The
Ministry…
Pastor
Clowney has been our shepherd, our confidant, our
advisor, our brother and our friend for eleven years.
He has demonstrated a life based upon the principle
that…”In ALL you do, in ALL you think,
in ALL you are, put God first and ALL IS WELL!”
Pastor Clowney has
worked faithfully and victoriously in the capacity
to which he has been called and placed. He has taught
the First Baptist Church family to stand on the
Word, put their faith into action and build strong
lives.
He is a visionary and a motivator. He takes tasks
to action and sees them to completion. He is a transformational
leader who recognizes that in order to have growth
there must be change and in order that you move
forward you must cease to look back.
He is a power house
of a preacher. His messages are deep and penetrating
and he delivers them with an energy and intensity
that compares to that of Martin and Malcolm and
Jesse and Al. It has been said of him that he can
preach an entire sermon in three words.
He is humble and anointed. He loves the Lord and
he is His servant. He walks the walk and he talks
the talk realizing that His life is not his own
but belongs to His father.
The Life…
Marvin
T. Clowney, Sr., is a native of Kannapolis, North
Carolina. He is the loving and devoted husband of
the former Tonda Lynn Stafford, the dedicated and
nurturing father of Alpha Dawn Clowney Stywall,
Marvin T. Clowney, Jr., and Liseta Lynnette Clowey
and the proud grandfather of an energetic, adorable
“six pack”: Aniah Dawn, Aunya Lari,
Akiya Daneen, Kayla Dawn and twins, Jade Michelle
and Jacobi Terrell.
Pastor Clowney received
his Bachelor of Theology Degree from Sugar Creek
School of Religion in Charlotte, North Carolina
under the leadership of the late Dr. Harold S. Diggs.
He received his Bachelor of Religion and Philosophy
Degree and Master of Divinity with Languages Degree
from Campbell University and Campbell Divinity School.
